The Magic of Micro-Moments: 10 Small Wins to Celebrate This Week in Your Classroom

Hey teacher friend,
Let’s talk about the tiny things. Not the big wins, not the shiny bulletin boards or the perfectly planned lesson that actually worked (although those are great too). I mean the micro-moments—those quick, often unnoticed wins that happen in between the chaos of the school day.
Because here’s the truth: it’s not always the grand gestures or major milestones that fill our cups. It’s the quiet, quick, beautiful little moments that remind us why we’re doing this work in the first place.
So this month as we wind down into summer, I invite you to slow down just a little and notice them. Maybe even write them down (I’ll even give you a free page from my journal to make it easy—link below!). 💛
Here are 10 small wins to celebrate this month in your classroom:
1. A student who rarely speaks… finally shared something.
Even if it was one word. Even if it was a nod. That’s growth, and that’s trust.
2. You actually drank your coffee while it was hot.
Miracles do happen.
3. A class that used to feel tough felt a little lighter today.
Maybe it’s the new routine you’re trying. Maybe it’s just a vibe shift. Either way—yes, please.
4. A kid said “thank you” when you handed them a pencil.
And they meant it. That counts as a win in every teacher's book.
5. You noticed your stress rising and paused to take a breath.
That moment of awareness? That’s mindfulness in action. A quiet reset in the middle of a busy day.
6. A student made you laugh out loud.
You weren’t expecting it. But it hit just right.
7. You tried something new—even though it felt awkward.
And hey, no one cried. Including you. Success!
8. A parent sent a kind message or said thank you.
Hold onto those words. Re-read them on the hard days.
9. You saw a moment of kindness between students.
Unprompted, genuine, human-to-human kindness. That’s the good stuff.
10. You remembered why you love this job—even if just for a second.
That little flicker of joy? It matters. Let it stay.
Want a space to capture more of these kinds of moments?
I’ve created a little something called The Little Things Journal for Educators—because I know how easy it is to forget the good stuff when the days are long and the to-do list is longer.

Keep it on your desk, in your planner, wherever you’ll actually see it.
Let’s start celebrating the wins that no one else sees—because those are the ones that make the biggest difference.
With gratitude and joy,
